Matthew Yates
Overview
Matthew is an experienced commercial and employment lawyer.
Matthew founded mylegal in 2013. Prior to that he was an associate for various national law firms and managed the Sunshine Coast branch for a major law firm.

After years of referring employment matters to other lawyers, he retrained to develop an employment law arm of his business.
Commercial and Business Law
Despite beginning his career in maritime and immigration law, Matthew has spent most of his career helping clients from start up to sale of business and everything in between – land sales, leasing, employment, confidentiality agreements, business disputes.
Property Law
Matthew has acted at both ends of spectrum from developers and publicly listed companies to residential conveyances. He particularly enjoys complicated rural sales.
Wills and Estates
Throughout his career, he has had a keen interest in helping clients navigate the often tricky area of estate and succession planning and the administration of deceased estate. Whilst he is never keen on seeing any client in court, Matthew will fight hard for a client in a dispute.
Recognition and Community
Matthew was awarded a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Queensland. He was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland in 1997.
